6 Steps on how to make good deals at auctions

Auctions still have a certain flair and cannot be compared with online auctions like eBay. You don’t have much time to think if you want to buy or not. The fact that everyone is present in the room makes the auction a whole lot of fun! So pay attention and don’t bid too high!

  1. First of all you have to choose what you want to buy. A sportsbike, a chopper, which brand and/or model and so on. If you have a clear idea of what you want to buy, you will just bid on that and won’t waste any money on other stuff.
  2. Get information! Get as much information as you can get about the bike. How much is it worth new? Which condition is it in now? Which are the weak spots of this model?
  3. Make your research about the saleshouse. Reputation? Were former customers happy?
  4. You can always take a closer look at whatever bike you want to buy. So don’t miss this appointment! Here you can see whatever is missing on the bike or what should be repaired. So you can make a a nice deal!
  5. Fix your limits! Before entering the auction! And don’t change them! Don’t start bidding too early because too many bidders will just raise the price.
  6. Always stay calm. Don’t exagerate. Just pay as much as something is worth for you! Maybe you could get it at the next auction for half the price.

6 Tipps for Online Auctions

Most of the people use eBay as their auction platform to make good deals, which is not a bad thing but there are many other auctionplatforms out there. These often offer motorcycles or other products that you can’t find on eBay. Maybe even for lower prices because there might be less people bidding.

One of my favorite online auctionsites is Sheriff Auctions. Here you can buy motorcycles, cars and many other things that are often not listed on eBay. Sign up HERE and check out their amazing offers!

  1. Just as in regular auctions, fix your limits.  Think about how much money you want to spend and don’t bid over this amount.
  2. Choose the right time to bid, because not every moment is good. If you can find offers that end early in the morning or late in the evening, that’s your chance! At these times not many people are online and you chance of getting a nice deal is much higher. Most of the bidders are online in the afternoon and in the early evening.
  3. Try to watch as many offers as possible. Be flexible, don’t be fixed on just one product because other offers might be much better.
  4. If you found an interesting bike don’t bid immediately. Watch it for a certain time and let other people bid. The best is if you wait till the last minute with your first bid.
  5. How much for my first bid? Well don’t put in your highest bid as your first one. Otherwise people will overbid you very fast. Lean back and watch what happens.
  6. Always be the last one to bid! Try to put in your last bid about 15 seconds before the end. And try how much time you’ll need to complete a bid, so that you don’t have to stress in the last seconds! And always make sure that you are logged in.
